Rachida Dati seems unbeatable, she has just been reappointed for the fourth time to the Ministry of Culture. Appointed under the Attal Government, she found her position in the Barnier Government, then in that of François Bayrou and finally in the two Lecornu Governments.
According to Press Correspondence who did the accounts, she is on the way to catching up with Roselyne Bachelot who, with 682 days, is the Minister of Culture who has remained in her post the longest under Emmanuel Macron. But will she last 44 more days to set the longevity record? Nothing is less certain given the current governmental instability and the threat of dissolution.
His arrival in January 2024 was a surprise, his renewal announced last night was just as much: Sébastien Lecornu had in fact indicated that he would not take any minister into the campaign. However, Ms. Dati has been campaigning for several months for Paris City Hall. A campaign which, however, risks being disrupted by threats of expulsion from his own party.
Several files are on his table and for a long time for some. It must first confine the announced reduction in its budget which has suffered a reduction of 200 million euros in the project which will be discussed in Parliament. It will also support its audiovisual reform bill, translate into legislative terms the conclusions of the States General of Information, take up all or part of the recommendations of the Bethenod report on support for the creation of the French scene, give substance to its plan on rurality, arbitrate on State financing of the various master plans for the work of national establishments…
