Malaga,
Until now we have talked to you about the Art Explora project in relation to the call for its European award, organized together with the Académie des Beaux-Arts. Institut de France with the aim of promoting the meeting of museums and art centers and their audiences and of promoting the commitment and participation of society in arts and culture: European non-profit organizations that present projects can participate in it. innovative solutions that can be shared and replicated at scale across the continent. The global award for this contest is 180,000 euros.
But Art Explora, from this year, will not only be an award, but also a traveling festival with a boat as its center: it is a very large catamaran, it was designed by Axel de Beaufort and Guillaume Verdier and its sails have been manager Laure Prouvost. Conceived as a symbol of encounter between cultures and regions, of large-scale dialogue, it has arrived today in Malaga and in this Andalusian city, on the Pier One promenade of the port, which will be its last destination in 2024, it will remain until November 10 .
Its programming will take place both in its spaces, where you can participate, from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., in immersive experiences (it can accommodate up to 2,000 visitors daily), and in other Malaga venues, including the Eduardo Ocón Auditorium of the City Council. , La Térmica, the Center for Contemporary Culture of the Provincial Council, the Pompidou Center or Astilleros Nereo.
The cultural programming that Art Explora offers in our country is therefore divided into two sections: inside this museum-ship we can attend virtual reality projections dedicated to the artistic wealth of Venice, Athens and Alexandria, as well as a sound journey through the Mediterranean by the Ircam Center Pompidou and the viewing of a documentary on the representation of women in the art of the countries around the Mare Nostrum; while, in the city as a whole, a program developed in collaboration with curators Rosa Lleó and Álex Martín Rod has been deployed that includes very different creative proposals linked, again, to Mediterranean history and the relationships between human beings and those hybrids that are no longer strictly hybrids.
Every day, in the aforementioned Eduardo Ocón Auditorium, from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, we can enjoy talks, concerts, flamenco shows, concerts or movies. Write down proposals:
