There are less than two months left to reach its 33rd edition Artesantander, the second longest contemporary art fair in our country after arc. From July 11 to 15, more than forty national and international galleries in which it will be the second chapter of this exhibition under the direction of the Commissioner and Cultural Producer Mónica Álvarez Álvarez Careaga will meet at the Cantabrian Palace. Again artisantander with the support of the Government of Cantabria and the City Council.
Fourteen galleries will be part of their general program for the first time and near the quarter of the participants, a dozen will be foreigners: they will arrive from Germany, Italy, Portugal and France. His selection committee has been composed of Joaquín García Martín, commissioner, art historian and writer on cultural studies, and Jan-Philipp Fruehsorge, professor, art critic and Berlin commissioner.

We also know the names of some of the artists who will host in their stands. Only shows of the British Simon Quadrat (Rafael Pérez Hernando), the Frenchman Olivier Gruber (invisible) and Carlos Creus (maternal and inheritance), Rafa Forteza (6th) and Paco Fernández (Caicoya) will be presented. And we can discover novel authors, sometimes underrepresented: A Pick Gallery will host a photographic project with Leila Erdman Tabukashcvili and Maria Elisa Ferraris; Barrera Baldán Gallery will show the work of Sofía González; Untagged Art will participate with Antonio Molina; Shazar Gallery has decided on Aze Zheng; and Galerie Monica Ruppert will present Lucía Mattes. As for Cantabrian artists, Mario Antón’s work in Lario Collective, Juan López in Juan Silió, Edu Carrillo in Veta by Fer Francés and Gómez Bueno in Siboney will not be missing, among others.
In order to favor the approach to the art of new audiences, the entrance to the fair will be free and will be accompanied by an educational program of which we will give you details later.
