Lion,

The nature in the thematic and the posttexpressionist figuration formal are the basis of the painting of the Segovian artist Luis Moro, Castilla y León de las Artes Award in 2022. Fauna, in its compositions, comes to claim a less overwhelming human attitude regarding the environments that we share with it, in pursuit of the salvation of the salvation of the salvation of the salvation of the salvation of the salvation of the salvation of soul of the worldin its pieces associated precisely to an animal.

Under the commissioner of Fernando Castro Flórez, this author presents in the Leon Musac a set of large -format paintings, drawings – technique that is very dear to him, and that he practices rigorously – and materials corresponding to his work processes in the exhibition “The Bramide of the Earth”. They add one hundred unpublished works, which integrate a proposal specifically conceived for this center and in which they fit the plausible (derived from slow observation, classification and translation to plastic language) and imagined.

We must interpret their creations attending to a symbolism linked to ecology (in some of its actions, Moro has literally sent relief messages) and the challenge of the usual dissociation between the natural and the cultural: it is interested in the constant cycles of change that occur in living beings, hence the butterfly considers an emblem and that is worth it of its wings, sometimes colorful and sometimes colorful in reference. Drawn by Durero, as a suggestion of the possibility of elevation against the difficulties of the present. We could even consider that, through that reason, reformulate that legend of Plinio el Viejo on the origins of painting, paradoxically narrated in its Natural history: The daughter of a potter, Kora, when saying goodbye to her lover, would have drawn the contour of her shadow projected on a wall to preserve her memory; The Segovian does not only want to remember, but also to face the future with hope and express that purpose in each of his creations. The flutters, the minimum animal gestures, represent here metaphors of possible changes.

It seeks to attend Moro to those aspects of the real that can revive us against discouragement, from the same details. In his words, A particle in microcosm reveals universal structures, star drawings, the magic of life in its metamorphosis. Recognize that your animals are pretexts to talk about other things.

This exhibition is anticipated to the other two that can be contemplated in the Musac this summer, as of July 12: one also linked to nature, “amplitude/ meadow”, of the Drift duo, which will analyze its relationship with humanity and technology; and “Total Station”, anthology of the secondine painter Hernández.
