Last February we learned, as we advanced, that the guest artist at ESTAMPA would be Liliana Porter, represented by one of the participating venues: Espacio Mínimo. The Argentine has developed her career in a wide variety of media, such as engraving, painting, drawing, photography, video, installation, theater and public art. In his creations, he investigates the performative power of the gesture, the first formulation of geometry, the circular nature of time and the consequences of chaos in the individual’s experiences in the face of social conventions and nature, from the desire to challenge the viewer as the protagonist of their daily world.
The mark that a movement leaves when it is produced has been the artist’s starting point when playing with the meanings given off by the materials, the poetic value of simple action and its theatrical potential. The characters that appear in her proposals are directed by her as if they were actors in a cast in a film; Through them, he tells us stories that investigate the relationship, sometimes not obvious, between reality and fiction, the paradoxes of the passage of time and the demands of humanist values.
For the fair, Porter will create a specific mural and a book dedicated to his journey will be presented with texts by Cuauhtémoc Medina and Inés Katzenstein. And Miss Lylo, with the support of Cervezas Alhambra, will deploy the installation The garden of time. Bloom without hasteanother five-meter mural with 3D embroidered flowers that represent the cycle of life and is inspired by the Generalife of Granada.
On the other hand, the usual ESTAMPA Collectors Program will offer an agenda of activities for potential buyers, including private visits to exhibitions, exclusive receptions and guided tours of the fair. Likewise, the COLECCIONA Forum will host debates, presentations and meetings in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture; They will bring together artists, curators, collectors and other professionals in the sector.
