Chloé Samaniego joins the French Institute

Chloé Samaniego (42) is the new director of artistic creation and cultural industries at the Institut français. She succeeds Emilie Boucheteil who joined Art Explora.

A graduate of Sciences Po Paris, Chloé Samaniego worked as an international technical advisor to the Minister of Culture of Taiwan for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2011 to 2013. Between 2013 and 2017, she was Secretary General of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’arts (ENSAPC) from Paris-Cergy, then she was assigned to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture as assistant to the deputy director of European and international affairs until 2021. Since then, Chloé Samaniego has held the position Assistant to the Head of the Artistic Creation Inspection Service (SICA) within the General Directorate for Artistic Creation (DGCA) of the Ministry of Culture.

The French Institute is placed under the dual supervision of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture. Responsible for promoting French culture and the French language throughout the world, it works with all the establishments of the French cultural network abroad: Instituts français, Alliances françaises, Cooperation and cultural action services of the embassies of France (SCAC) and binational centres.

Part of the general secretariat, the artistic creation and cultural industries department of the Institut français is responsible for evaluating and coordinating the State’s foreign policy in the fields of visual arts, performing arts, music, publishing, as well as cinema and series.
