Kevin Riffault new general director of the National Monuments Center

The appointment of Kevin Riffault as director of the Centre des monuments nationaux (CMN), initiated by Marie Lavandier (president of the establishment) was validated by Rachida Dati. Kevin Riffault will take up his new duties at the head of the CMN on September 1st. He succeeds Delphine Samsoen, who has taken over as director of Universcience.

A graduate of the ENA from the same class as Emmanuel Macron and a graduate of the Institute of Political Studies, Kevin Riffault began his career at the Directorate of Cultural Affairs of the City of Paris before working at the Ministry of Culture as Deputy Director of Museum Policy and then Deputy Director of Financial and General Affairs (2010 and 2019). He then joined the National Library of France (BNF) in 2019 before becoming its Director General in 2021.

The Centre des monuments nationaux, created in 1914, is a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. It preserves, manages and opens to visitors 100 monuments (from Prehistory to the 20th century), 19 of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Arc de Triomphe and Cluny Abbey are among the 100 monuments managed by the Centre des monuments nationaux and also among the most visited monuments in France.
